Former Valletta FC secretary passes away

Benny Pace, former secretary of Valletta FC passed away early this morning.

Benny Pace started journalism in season 1957/1958, he introduced Soccer Magazine and in 1960 he published The Sporting Star, a weekly journal. As a free-lance journalist Benny Pace wrote a series of articles about the story of sports (1912/1939), these articles were published in the Malta Indipendent.

Benny Pace was the editor of Valletta United W.P.C. (1993/1995), Valletta FC Lilywhites Magazine (1994/1995 and 1998/1999). He was also editor of the official publications issued by Valletta FC in the European competitions.

Benny was the main contributor in the Football Year Book (1986/1987) until the (2006/2007) edition. 2007 was his 50th anniversary in sport journalism. He received honours for this.

Mass ‘preasente cadavere’ will be said tomorrow Friday, 26th February at Carmelite Church – Old Theatre Street, Valletta, at 10.00am.
