Jean Borg set to join Italian club Fidelis Andria

Valletta, international defender Jean Borg, has agreed to join Italian Serie C team Fidelis Andria.

The 25-year-old defender has played an important role for Valletta FC over the past few years, and Fidelis Andria has taken notice of his efforts for both club and country.

Borg was under contract to Valletta FC till the end of the season, although the defender’s agreement allowed him to leave the Citizens if a foreign team made him an offer.

Borg was contacted by an Italian team last month, and an agreement on personal conditions was made. The player is now scheduled to depart Malta this week and begin his journey in Italy, where he will sign a contract that will keep him there through the end of the current campaign.

Jean Borg is the second player from Malta to sign for Fidelis Andria in recent years, Carlo Zammit Lonardelli joined Fidelis Andria in 2020, prior to returning to the Maltese Premier League in 2021.
